This post is quite late, I know. But would you believe that I drafted a post Sunday night, edited it on Monday, and it promptly disappeared?! Yup, bummer. Nevertheless, I press on.
Last week I was pretty much 'on top of the mountain' with all the progress I made. This week though is a bit like being in the valley. I'm still waiting for my contractor to do wall paper removal and painting. So, I'm still at 75% complete, no updates on my progress. I've had a lot of time to think and plan for the next few weeks. I need to pick a paint color and get organized.
Let's start with the walls. The Behr Color Smart app for iPhone / iPad is a good tool to help with this. Let's say you've found a color you like on any object, you can use the 'Photo Match' to find the name of that color. Cool, huh? You can also save your favorite colors, and preview them in preloaded photos.
Here are color options I'm considering, be warned, they're pretty similar :-) I'm considering variations of grey or white; nothing to compete with the other colors in the room, namely gray, yellow and ivory. Did I mention my carpet is similar to the dusky violet color below? Wouldn't want anything to clash with that.
Another feature worth mentioning is the 'Paint Your Room Virtually' available at the time of this post, at Behr.com only. Take a photo of your room, upload it, and paint it with any color to preview. This feature doesn't work as well as the preview one, you literally have to paint the room with the mouse.
You can also order samples right from the app. Sweet!
Next up, my dresser. Ever wonder what's the secret to having a clean, clutter free dresser / vanity? I have. Drawer organizers my friend. The dresser has 9 drawers, 6 large ones, and 3 small ones. I'll buy drawer organizers to stash my stuff. Here's a an idea of what your drawers could look like:
Bed, Bath and Beyond also has drawer/clothes organizers, but I like the textures and multiple options Ikea provides. One more thing, for your makeup and other beauty accessories, consider this set of organizers, you won't regret it!:
That's all
for now designers, until my next post.
Happy
Designing!
Kyla
