If walls could talk, my, my, my, imagine all the things they'd say! I'm not here to get in your business but you know what, your walls, they do talk. And if you could hear them, it'd go something like this:
- "We're dying of boredom here. What's up with all the beige, white, and off-white colors you dress us in?"
- "I'm so naked, so cold, can't you at least cover me with some fun wallpaper?"
- "I'm not allergic to artwork!"
- "We like feeling special, a tiara may be overboard but crown molding will do just fine."
Don't believe me? Take a good look at your walls and ceilings. Is there room for improvement? I know there definitely is for mine. I'll bet my walls are screaming at me about being so neglected and abused. Yep it's been a while since I removed an entire mirror covered wall and there's still gunk remaining.

I'm getting closer to renovating my bedroom walls, just need to find the right time to bring the contractor in. I won't be spending a lot of money, you know I'm all about the savings, but I still like being inspired. In that vein I thought I'd share some inspiration with you:

In addition to painting my walls a nice shade of grey, I'm adding crown molding. That's phase 1. Phase 2 entails me adding a chandelier for a little drama. Baby steps, people. Molding is actually quite affordable. Here are a few resources for buying crown molding:
- easycrownmolding.com: sells crown molding you can install with no tools, in a variety of sizes and styles. Prices starting at $34.99 for a 12 x 12 room
- wishihadthat.com/crown-molding.aspx: has over 200 hundred affordable crown molding styles to choose from
- Your local Home Depot
Say a lot, while Saying Nothing at All
All this talk of walls and the secrets they supposedly keep has me thinking of appearances, our personal ones. Many of us spend quite a bit of time managing others perceptions of us. In my line of work, it's all about perceptions. But what do people really think when they see us? When they dig deeper do they find it's all a facade? Do they even want to get to know more about you? Are they eager to learn from you? Do you show that you care? People will always have negative things to say about us. Question is are they true? You know where I'm going with this, right? How about we spend more time attending to our characters. That is worth more than any facade, um, I mean clothes you could buy. Take it from me, I like clothes :-)
Happy designing!
Kyla
