When the price is right... The Sofa hunt continues!

Hola! Mes amigos,

As promised, I'm back with that post on finding affordable sofa options. It's a lot later than planned, but I've been very busy (more on that in another post). If you missed my last post you can read it here.

I've done a lot of work trying to find the right sofa, at the right price for my living room makeover. Not easy. There are several options I looked in to.

1) Mid-priced Furniture stores - Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, Wisteria, etc. had quite a few sofa styles I liked, but you guessed it, they were a little out of my price range (or what I was willing to spend.) Interestingly, I could never find exactly what I wanted, so why bother?

2) High-end Furniture stores - I found exactly what I wanted in most of these stores, and there were even a few times I tried to convince myself I was making a great investment. However, a sofa just isn't as high on the list right now for me. Perhaps later when I've made some more worthwhile investments. Besides, you can get more affordable, good quality ones for a fraction of the price of the high end sofas.

3) Reupholstered, and Gently Used - Yes, I went to Etsy, considered flea markets, etc. And these had pretty cool options. There were a few roadblocks here for me though. First, the cost of reupholstery usually equals buying new from mid-priced stores. Secondly, the cost to ship from places like Etsy was sometimes much more than your regular store. Finally, the thought of paying to use a stranger's sofa was a tad gross for me; pretty much akin to buying a used mattress (shrug.) Just saying.

So my dears, I decided on the good, reliable, Ikea :-). You'd think I'm their marketing agent with all the promo I do for them. But, it just shows you how much I appreciate their offerings, cuz I'm not benefiting from doing this whatsoever! Don't believe me? The proof is in the pictures.

Happy designing!
