Speaking of Mirrors - Beyond the home

Hey Designers,

I'm still on the topic of mirrors, and couldn't help thinking last night how important mirrors are. Outside of interior design, we rely so much on mirrors; how would we ever live without them? Think about how many times you use mirrors in the course of one day, I'm counting refletors of every kind as well, glass doors, shop windows, rearview mirrors, car windows, etc. Umm hmm. It's a lot. I've been having salads for lunch a lot lately, with baby spinach as the base, and I'm constantly worried there's a peice stuck in my teeth :-) Mirrors are invaluable.

Know what else is valuable, laws. Many of us look at them with annoyance, as something restricting our freedom. But the very reason laws are instituted is to protect our liberties. Most civil laws are actually based on religious laws such as the Ten Commandments. God provided these to us not only to protect us from harm, but to help us maintain good relationships with Him and our neighbors. Without the law of God, we wouldn't know to love, reverence and worship God (first 4 commandments) and how to love our family, parents, friends, coworkers, etc. (last 6). Yep, we need to love them too! More importantly, the law lets us know when we're going off track, when we're about to, or have broken away from God so we can ask Him to help us make things right. Do you find it hard to develop good, solid relationships with others? Check your reflection, go back to those 10 laws.

The Ten Commandments always existed. Before they were written on tablets of stone, they were placed in the hearts of people, and then people lost sight of them, completely. So they written down, and given to Israel to be ambassadors of the Word. No, the law was not created for Israelites only...

David said in Psalm 119: 10-12

10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
12 Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.

Knowing the law, the law is one thing, but we need God to teach us. Why don't you ask Him to teach, hide it within your hearts, so you can maintain strong relationships with Him and others? I certainly will.

Happy designing!

Kyla
