Makeover...not yet accomplished

Hi Designers,

This has been an interesting weekend; I had so many things planned, so many. For example, wrapping up my bedroom makeover. Given that I traveled most of last week, and will this week as well, there was little time to get through the list of items I shared with you (click here to see that post). To make matters worse, I had food poisoning in Ohio last week. Thankfully, it wasn't too serious, but it took my stomach days to settle down. Let's just say what my colleagues and I Yelped about that restaurant was not good (shudders).

But back to this makeover; it isn't the only thing I have to do, this girl has to have a life you know... And I decided to color, deep condition my hair (along with a host of other things) myself late last night. Trust me, it was long overdue. I went to bed sometime after 5:30 am. Yes, I'm a little sleep deprived, but it was worth it :-)

To make matters worse, some of the hardware I ordered online to add the finishing touches to my room, still haven't arrived yet. Picture frames, curtain tie backs, etc. and that's not the end! No, I installed my drape rod last Sunday, and it fell down a couple hours ago, leaving two gaping holes in my newly painted walls. Uuggghh!

As frustrated as I am, I'm also dealing with this well. I figure that if I waited all those years and the last 5 months to get here, I can wait another week, right?! Accessories can make or break the room, and I'm not about to break 5 months worth of work, no siree. Here's what have I learned so:

  1. Don't off more than you can chew.
  2. Prioritize, figure out what's most important and focus on that, and then do the rest.
  3. Be thorough; I completely forgot to buy some of the smaller, but very important items.

So, chin up! I'm pressing ahead. I will put the finishing touches on my room, and what you see below is the sum of what I have left to do. Sanding, spray painting, hanging, etc. I'll take pics.

Items for my last DIY bedroom makeover

One thing I will share with you all, is a text that has kept me going these last few months, especially when things got a little tough.
And let us not be weary in well doing; for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Happy designing!
