Inspiration for My Bookshelf Redo

Hey designers!

I thought it would be a good idea to start off this Living Room makeover with a few simple updates, then get into the more complex things a little later on. In that light, my bookshelf seems like the easiest thing to start with. By the way, did I mention that this makeover will take me a little longer than the first one? Yeah, we're taking it real slow, like December / January type slow.

I found a few bookshelves to use as inspiration:

I'll have to try this on my shelves in the Living Room
This is a stealer, I think I'll try painting the back of the shelves to give it some 'oomph!'
Again, may just have to steal a few ideas here. Green Library

What I love about all these bookshelves is that they allow one to display things that you love, sort of show off your style. I love books, but a bookshelf is a major opportunity to dress up a room, give it some warmth and character. Yep, can't wait to redo mine!

Aside from the opportunity for creativity, etc. bookshelves hold precious knowledge, whether it be an escape from reality, a window into someone's world, discoveries, history, you name it, books contain it. I can't wrap this up without mentioning the most golden of all books, the one that is a "...lamp unto our feet and a light unto our paths". If you have and read no other book, I recommend to you the Bible. It's the one you can't really live without.

Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.  Psalm 103: 105
What's the one book you cannot do without? Why?

Happy designing!
